Food is always better in a good container !
Use a pragmatic approach and collaborate with suppliers to develop the product in a smart way. In this project, we used the existing glass body and created the lids and the plastic body in order to add 2 more items in the range. The glass one bring another feature with its 2 compartment and its material whereas the plastic lunchbox is a cheaper and timeless version that is a must in the assortment. The valve is needed for a perfect airtight and we made it smarter by integrated a hole to hold the Stainless steel SS420 cutlery that we selected “on supplier’s shelf”.
After validating the architecture, with the commercial team in France and in China, let’s work deeply into details with the supplier. We did about 8 rounds of 3D printing and refinements post tooling to validate the golden sample that will be the reference for the production. During the industrial adjustment phase, we went from the injection and ejectors pins, to the alignment of the bodies and lids, passing through the validation of the colors swatches.
